- Canadian Imperial Bank of CommerceA bank’s full name, a group brand and the name of a particular subsidiary are different information. CIBC’s U.S. site identifies Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce as the parent bank of CIBC Bank USA and other subsidiaries. Preserve the exact institution named in a document; the letters alone do not identify a particular account, product or country-specific service.Use the full institutional name to identify a document, while preserving any distinct subsidiary name.
- Commonwealth Institute of Biological ControlThis CIBC is an institutional name in agricultural and biological-control research, rather than the Canadian bank. A historical author affiliation or publisher line must retain its date and source context. CABI’s retrospective says work in Malaysia began under CIBC in 1969; that regional milestone does not establish when the institute itself was founded.Preserve the historical institution and citation date instead of replacing an old affiliation with a guessed modern organization.
- Centres Interinstitutionnels de Bilan de CompétencesKeep the French full name when identifying the network or a local centre. The federation also uses the singular Centre interinstitutionnel de bilans de compétences in a local-centre account. Those grammatical and naming variants do not automatically identify unrelated organizations. A network name, a particular service and an individual’s outcome are separate information; the initials alone establish no funding, admission or qualification recognition. In English, the context is French career support and professional skills reviews.Name the local provider and the service being discussed before assuming what an appointment or document means.
